2,226 Bosnian Hajj Pilgrims Arrive in Sarajevo After Pilgrimage

The Office for Hajj and Umrah of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed that all 2,226 Bosnian pilgrims successfully completed the Hajj. The final group performed the farewell Tawaf in Mecca on 4 June, then traveled to Medina before beginning the return journey.

Flights back to Bosnia started on 5 June, with the first aircraft landing at Sarajevo International Airport around 07:00. Organisers expect more than 500 pilgrims to return each day on three daily flights, with the last plane scheduled to arrive on the evening of 10 June. The pilgrimage was reported to have proceeded without major health issues, and all planned activities—including visits to Medina’s historic sites—were carried out according to schedule.

Pilgrims expressed gratitude for the spiritual experience, noting moments such as seeing the Kaaba and visiting the Prophet’s Mosque. The organizers emphasized ongoing support from guides, medical teams, and the Islamic Community throughout the journey.
