Argentina police detain women suspected of stabbing and threatening in separate incidents
In Lanús Oeste, Buenos Aires Province, police arrested 24‑year‑old Narea Martínez after she allegedly stabbed her 38‑year‑old partner three times during a jealousy‑fueled argument on 29 June. The victim suffered injuries to his right leg and shoulder and was taken to Hospital Evita. Martínez was apprehended nearby with a superficial cut on her finger; the knife used in the attack was seized and an investigation is ongoing.
Separately, police in Palma detained a woman who is accused of threatening a couple who had been sheltering her. According to the victims, she brandished a wooden pole over a meter and a half long, threatened to set their house on fire and to kill them. The woman was arrested on suspicion of intimidation and taken to the local precinct for further questioning.
