25 de Mayo mayor announces worker bonus following IOMA lawsuit

Ramiro Egüen, the mayor of 25 de Mayo, announced an extraordinary bonus of $200,000 for municipal workers following a successful legal claim against the Instituto de Obra Médico Asistencial (IOMA). The judicial ruling, issued by the Mercedes Judicial Department, approved a liquidation of over $256 million in favor of the municipality.

The legal dispute originated from unpaid claims for services provided by the Saturnino Unzué Municipal Hospital. While the current court-approved amount is approximately $256 million, the municipality maintains that the total debt owed by IOMA exceeds $800 million.

In addition to the bonus, Egüen announced several new initiatives for municipal employees, including the creation of a municipal co-insurance plan with dental coverage and a system for direct credits. The mayor also reviewed his administration's fiscal performance, noting that recent salary increases have added approximately $150 million in monthly costs to the municipal budget.
