28-year-old detained for cocaine possession in Giardini Naxos, Sicily

Carabinieri from the Giardini Naxos station, assisted by soldiers of the 12th Regiment “Sicilia” Operational Intervention Company based in Palermo, arrested a 28‑year‑old resident of Taormina after observing him on a scooter discard a packet of cigarettes. The packet contained two doses of cocaine weighing about 4 grams.

Following the arrest, investigators searched the suspect’s home and discovered additional packaging material used for drug preparation. The man, who has prior drug‑related offenses and was already under a signing obligation for such crimes, was taken into custody. The seized cocaine was handed to the Messina forensic laboratory for analysis.
