34th Csángó Festival in Jászberény draws over 400 participants

The 34th Csángó Festival and Folk Art Fair takes place in Jászberény, Hungary from August 5 to 9, 2026. More than four hundred performers and artisans, including Moldavian and Gyimesi Csángó tradition bearers, folk ensembles from Transylvania, Slovakia and Hungary, and minority dance groups living in Hungary, will present concerts, dance shows, craft exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, children's programmes, light painting, a parade and fireworks.

The event is organized by the Folklór Kulturális Közalapítvány (Folklore Cultural Foundation) together with the Jászság Népi Együttes (Jászság Folk Ensemble). Its aim is to showcase and preserve the living cultural heritage of the Csángó communities and strengthen cultural identity across the Carpathian Basin.
