Nertil Buzi suspected in double homicide and kidnapping in Roskovec, Albania
In the early morning of Friday, around 06:00, police in Vidhisht village, Roskovec municipality (Fier County) responded to a violent incident. A 35‑year‑old suspect, identified in reports as R. B. and named Nertil (or Refit) Buzi, is alleged to have shot his 58‑year‑old father‑in‑law, K. P., with a hunting rifle, and to have seriously wounded the 55‑year‑old mother‑in‑law, B. P., who was later taken to hospital.
After the killings, the suspect fled the scene in a car, taking with him his former fiancé, R. P., and the hunting rifle. Police set up control points, launched an intensive manhunt, and engaged RENEA negotiators and local police to persuade the suspect to surrender. Negotiations continued through the day, but around 16:35 the suspect is believed to have died by self‑inflicted gunshot inside his vehicle.
The investigation is being overseen by the local prosecutor’s office, which continues to document the circumstances and pursue any additional leads.
