38th Infantry Regiment Ravenna honored in Tortona

A commemorative event was held at the Passalacqua barracks in Tortona to honor the 38th Infantry Regiment Ravenna. The gathering featured the presentation of a new edition of the war diary of soldier Mario Brandolini, titled ‘From the Russian Steppe to German Prisoner Camps – Odyssey of a Soldier of the 38th Infantry Regiment Ravenna’.

The project, curated by Manuele Carlo Riccardi, was developed over five years through extensive research conducted alongside Carlo Lupi, president of Unirr Stradella Oltrepò. The initiative aims to preserve historical testimonies and stories that were at risk of being lost.

The event was attended by local authorities, including the Mayor of Tortona, Federico Chiodi, and military representatives such as Colonel Alessandro Stanca of the 121st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment Ravenna.
