4-H celebrates National 4-H Week with leadership focus

National 4-H Week is being celebrated from October 4 to October 10, highlighting the organization's role in youth development. Through the ‘Beyond Ready’ initiative, 4-H aims to expand its reach from 6 million to 10 million young people annually by 2030.

Local programs in regions such as Jefferson County, Arkansas, and Sumter County, Georgia, offer hands-on learning opportunities. These include STEM challenges, public speaking, financial literacy, community service, and agricultural projects. Jill Bramble, President and CEO of the National 4-H Council, noted that the week serves as a reminder that young people are already developing the skills and resilience necessary to lead in their communities.
