40 Days for Life launches new autumn campaigns in Mexico and Spain

The international initiative ‘40 Days for Life’ is launching new autumn campaigns focused on prayer, fasting, and peaceful presence to advocate against abortion.

In Mexico, the Diocese of Coatzacoalcos is preparing to implement the campaign across 17 communities in southern Veracruz. The initiative, which has been active in the region since 2015, aims to raise community awareness and provide support to families in vulnerable pregnancy situations. Preparatory masses were held at the Sagrada Familia and Cristo Rey parishes to mark the start of the period.

In Spain, Bishop José Rico Pavés of the Diocese of Asidonia-Jerez has called for participation in the campaign, which runs from late September through November 1. The Bishop emphasized the importance of defending human dignity from conception, describing the defense of life as a central challenge for Christians. The organization claims its international efforts have contributed to the closure of numerous abortion centers and the saving of thousands of lives.
