405 Freeway crash causes major rush hour delays in Los Angeles
Two vehicles overturned on the northbound 405 Freeway near Santa Monica Boulevard in West Los Angeles during the Thursday morning rush hour. The collision occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m., causing significant traffic backups across the Westside.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert shortly after 8 a.m. due to the closure of lanes 4, 5, and 6. The alert was extended by 30 minutes as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage from the roadway.
At least one individual involved in the crash declined medical transport to a hospital. Authorities have not yet confirmed if any serious injuries were sustained in the accident. The affected lanes were eventually reopened to traffic.
