42 Cattle Die in Abuja Community Amid Suspected Chemical Contamination

In the Koroko community of Kwali Area Council, Federal Capital Territory, 42 cows were found dead after grazing on grass that may have been chemically contaminated. The incident was reported by Yahuza Ibrahim, treasurer of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, who said the cattle were taken out by the herder's sons and later discovered dead in different parts of the bush.

Herder Musa Lawal collapsed on learning of the loss, was taken to Kwali General Hospital and discharged after treatment. Kwali Council Chairman Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali, together with Fulani community leaders, visited the family and ordered the Department of State Services and other security agencies to investigate the cause and consider assistance to the affected herder, aiming to prevent tension between farmers and herders.
