46-year-old Sicilian entrepreneur airlifted to Palermo after severe motorcycle crash
A 46‑year‑old entrepreneur from Porto Empedocle was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on via Nereo, the road linking the town’s beaches to the Scala dei Turchi near Realmonte, Sicily. He was riding a Yamaha T‑Max when he lost control of the scooter; investigators are considering a possible pedestrian crossing as a factor, but the exact cause remains under investigation.
The rider suffered multiple traumas and was initially taken by ambulance to the San Giovanni di Dio hospital in Agrigento. Because of the critical condition, doctors ordered an urgent helicopter transfer to the Villa Sofia‑Cervello Trauma Center in Palermo. Carabinieri from the Porto Empedocle station are conducting inquiries, gathering witness statements and evidence to clarify the dynamics of the crash.
