The 46th National Para Games opened at the Jeju World Cup Stadium, marking the first time the event has been hosted in Jeju. Under the theme ‘Opening the Infinite Universe’ and the value of ‘Coexistence and Accompanying,’ the competition is scheduled to run until October 16.

On the second day of competition, the Jeju delegation demonstrated strong performance, securing 13 medals, including 7 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. This brought their cumulative total to 35 medals, placing them 11th in the overall standings. Notable achievements included gold medals in athletics by Lim Chang-seon, Lee Seon-hee, and Kang Hyun-jung, as well as several victories in swimming and dance sports.

To enhance the event, Jeju has implemented several technological and accessibility measures. These include the use of NFT-based digital tickets and the expansion of AI-driven sports broadcasting to various disciplines. The province has also focused on improving barrier-free environments, such as increasing wheelchair lifts and ramps at venues and accommodations.
