47-year-old arrested in Verona after assaulting two women

A 47-year-old man of Moroccan origin was arrested by Carabinieri of Legnago following two attempted sexual assaults in the Verona province on 23 July. The first attack occurred around 07:00 near Roverchiara, where the suspect approached a woman walking with her dog, tried to seize her bag and threatened her. The second incident happened less than two hours later close to Argiari (near Cerea), where another woman was approached and a sexual assault was attempted before she called for help. Police located the suspect hiding near a corn field on Guasti road, apprehended him, and transferred him to the Montorio prison in Verona pending a judicial hearing. Investigations are ongoing to fully reconstruct the events and assess further security measures for women walking in isolated rural areas.
