Jed York, San Francisco 49ers owner, arrested in Ohio sting

Jed York, the principal owner and CEO of the San Francisco 49ers, was arrested in East Palestine, Ohio, during a sting operation conducted by the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. According to police reports and court documents, York responded to an advertisement on a prostitution website and arranged to meet a woman for sexual services in exchange for $140.

York initially faced charges of engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He subsequently entered a no-contest plea to two reduced misdemeanor charges: disorderly conduct and possession of criminal tools. He was sentenced to two days in jail, but received credit for one day already served in detention. Additionally, York was ordered to pay $1,150 in fines and completed an online course. As part of the plea agreement, $160 seized during the arrest was forfeited to the human trafficking task force.

The NFL has stated it is “aware of the issue” and will review the matter under its personal conduct policy, which addresses behavior that may harm the league’s reputation. The San Francisco 49ers released a statement noting that because the case is a “legal matter that has been resolved,” they would not provide further comment.
