49ers sign Deebo Samuel to $7 M deal, scout wide receiver options

The San Francisco 49ers have re‑signed veteran wide receiver Deebo Samuel on a contract with a maximum value of $7 million. The deal includes a guaranteed base salary of $3.27 million, a $490,000 signing bonus and a total guarantee just under $4 million. Additional incentives provide $20,000 per game played, bonuses for reaching 600 or 803 scrimmage yards, a playoff‑berth multiplier, and extra payouts for top‑10 kick‑return yardage and playing at least 68% of offensive snaps.

In parallel, the 49ers have held workouts for several wide receivers amid injuries to Ricky Pearsall, Mike Evans and De’Zhaun Stribling. They evaluated Donovan Peoples‑Jones and Kristian Wilkerson, and signed special‑teamer KhaDarel Hodge, a 2024 Pro Bowl honoree, to bolster the position.
