4Mijl4You event sees record participation despite stormy weather

The 15th edition of the 4Mijl4You, an inclusive event where participants travel via walking, cycling, wheelchairs, or skates, took place between Haren and Groningen. Despite a yellow code issued by the KNMI for the Groningen province due to thunderstorms and wind gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour, a record 4,500 participants joined the event.

Participants braved rainy and windy conditions to complete the 6.4-kilometer course, arriving at the Grote Markt in Groningen for celebrations. The event, which began in 2011, is known for its colorful parade featuring lights, decorations, and costumes. The festivities included medals for both human participants and their pets.
