50 Cent blames Lil Meech for BMF cancellation

Executive producer 50 Cent has publicly attributed the cancellation of the Starz crime drama ‘BMF’ to the behavior of lead actor Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory Jr. These comments follow recent remarks made by co-star Da’Vinchi on the ‘Funky Friday’ podcast.

During the podcast, Da’Vinchi suggested the series might have continued if a different actor had been cast as Big Meech, noting that managing Lil Meech became increasingly difficult for 50 Cent. 50 Cent reinforced this sentiment on Instagram, alleging that Lil Meech struggled with drug use during production, faced financial issues, and required legal assistance to remain on set.

While these allegations have been made by the producer and co-star, they have not been independently substantiated, and Starz has not provided an official explanation for the show's end. The series, which dramatized the rise of the Black Mafia Family, concluded after four seasons in 2025. Previous reports suggested the cancellation might have been a strategic decision by Starz to reduce costs by developing new content.
