50 Cent and ‘Power’ creator Courtney Kemp clash over series credit

Rapper and producer 50 Cent has publicly clashed with Courtney Kemp, the creator and showrunner of the Starz hit drama ‘Power’, stating he does not look forward to working with her again. In an interview with Variety, 50 Cent alleged that Kemp has taken too much credit for the series' success, claiming his music and efforts in pitching the show were instrumental to its development.

Kemp responded by calling 50 Cent’s recollections of production and budgets ‘uninformed’, noting that he was rarely present in budget meetings. While she acknowledged his importance to the ‘genesis’ of the show, she expressed bewilderment at his public comments and stated she has moved on with her career.

The dispute escalated on social media when 50 Cent made personal allegations on Instagram, suggesting Kemp had engaged in inappropriate conduct with cast and crew members, though he provided no evidence for the claim.
