50 Cent supports suspect accused of assaulting Rick Ross' son

Rapper 50 Cent has publicly expressed support for Don Roberts, a 20-year-old man accused of assaulting William Roberts III, the 21-year-old son of rapper Rick Ross. The incident allegedly occurred on October 11 at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida.

According to a police affidavit, William Roberts III claimed that while he was speaking to a woman on a street corner, Don Roberts exited a vehicle, yelled at the woman, and approached William with a handgun. William alleged that the suspect threatened him and struck him on the right side of the head with the firearm. Don Roberts was arrested on October 16 and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

50 Cent shared Roberts' inmate information on Instagram, stating he would be released, and announced he is providing defense attorney Drew Findling for the case. While inmate records show a $50,000 bond, it remains unconfirmed if 50 Cent personally posted the bail. In a video following his release, Roberts maintained his innocence, stating, “I’m out and I’m innocent. The Lord know I’m innocent.”
