60 Minutes names new executive editors amid leadership changes
CBS News has announced new leadership for the 59th season of ‘60 Minutes’ following recent organizational changes. Executive Producer Nick Bilton named Maria Gavrilovic and Chris Stewart as new executive editors.
Gavrilovic, a 17-year veteran of the program, was promoted from senior producer. Stewart, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, joins the team from The Wall Street Journal. Bilton stated that the new leadership will focus on story ideation, investigations, and digital storytelling to expand the broadcast’s reach.
The new season debuts September 13 under the leadership of CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss. The premiere segment features correspondent Jon Wertheim profiling the Los Angeles Rams, including interviews with head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford. This season follows a period of significant upheaval at the program, which included the dismissal of several correspondents and the replacement of the previous executive producer.
