61° Stormo command handover held in Galatina

The 61° Stormo of the Italian Air Force held a command handover ceremony at the “Fortunato Cesari” Military Airport in Galatina on September 4. Colonel Gianfranco Liccardo, the outgoing commander, passed the unit's flag to Colonel Gaetano Farina, the incoming commander.

The ceremony was presided over by Air Force General Francesco Vestito, Commander of the Air Force Schools/3rd Air Region of Bari. The event included a flyover by a formation of aircraft from the 61° Stormo to mark the transition of responsibility. In his farewell address, Colonel Liccardo expressed gratitude to the personnel for their professionalism and dedication during his two-year tenure.
