62-year-old Forlì man ordered to wear electronic bracelet in stalking case

A 62‑year‑old man from Forlì was ordered by a judge to wear an electronic ankle bracelet that prevents him from approaching the woman he had been stalking. The victim, a shop employee, reported repeated incidents of vehicle vandalism, tire punctures and threatening behavior. Prosecutors opened investigations for stalking (distalking) and property damage under Italy’s “Codice Rosso” law aimed at combating gender‑based violence. The court deemed the man a “concrete and current danger” to the victim’s physical and psychological safety and imposed a precautionary measure requiring him to stay at least one kilometre away from her at all times. The electronic monitoring device will be managed by authorities to enforce the distance restriction.

The case highlights the application of stricter protective measures for victims of gender‑based harassment in Italy.
