62‑year‑old cyclist killed in Reinbek motorcycle collision

On a Monday evening at about 18:20 on the Sachsenwaldstraße between Schönningstedt and Aumühle in Stormarn, Schleswig‑Holstein, a 62‑year‑old cyclist was struck by a 19‑year‑old motorcyclist on a KTM. The impact tore the bicycle in two and threw the motorcycle over 100 metres. The cyclist died at the scene, while the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was air‑lifted to a hospital by a rescue helicopter. Police opened an investigation and a traffic expert was consulted. The road remained closed for several hours before reopening around 22:30.

The accident prompted immediate assistance from emergency services, and witnesses received support from a chaplain. No further casualties were reported.
