63-Year-Old Fisherman Drowned in Hungary's Deseda Lake While Retrieving Bait Boat

A 63-year-old fisherman from Kaposvár disappeared on Monday after his bait boat malfunctioned on Deseda Lake. He entered the water to retrieve the boat, began thrashing, and sank. Witnesses called emergency services immediately, and rescue teams arrived quickly, but darkness forced a temporary suspension of the search. The operation resumed the following morning despite storm conditions, and the body was located several hundred metres from the drowning site on Wednesday morning. The rescue effort was unable to revive the victim.

The incident was reported by TV2 Tények, and local volunteer fire and rescue officials confirmed the circumstances of the drowning.
