65-year-old woman found alive after two‑day search in Trofa, Portugal

A 65‑year‑old woman from Santo Tirso, who had been missing for two days, was located alive in the municipality of Trofa on July 30. The search was coordinated by the Porto Metropolitan Police Command, the Santo Tirso Criminal Investigation Division, and supported by the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, the SAR TEAM volunteer organization, and the CIOPS rescue corps. Investigators used the woman's mobile‑phone location data, which initially pointed to Santo Tirso, before expanding the search perimeter to Trofa. When found, the woman was disoriented, severely dehydrated and physically weakened, and was immediately taken to medical care.

The operation highlighted close inter‑agency cooperation and the use of real‑time data to locate missing persons in Portugal.
