672 grams of cannabis seized on public bus in Piazza Armerina, Italy

Police conducting a routine check on a public bus travelling from Catania to Piazza Armerina in the province of Enna stopped two passengers after observing suspicious behavior. A search of a large bag carried by one of the youths uncovered a sealed package containing 672 grams of cannabis. The individual was arrested on the spot for possession with intent to distribute and placed under house arrest, while the second passenger was charged but released pending investigation. The seized marijuana was taken into custody for forensic analysis, and authorities continue inquiries to determine any broader trafficking network linked to the haul.

The operation forms part of an ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the region, with similar checks on transport routes aimed at disrupting illegal distribution channels.
