7-Eleven Japan rolls out sliced Handy Pizza at convenience stores

7‑Eleven Japan has introduced a new "Handy Pizza" sold by the slice through its Seven Café Bakery system. Two varieties are offered: a classic Margherita with mozzarella, tomato and basil, and a teriyaki chicken pizza topped with sweet soy sauce and mayonnaise. Each slice is priced at ¥270 (Margherita) or ¥290 (teriyaki chicken). The pizzas are baked in‑store on a narrow, hand‑held crust that is crisp on the outside and soft inside. sales began on July 28 in regions including Hokkaido, Tohoku, Kanto, Niigata and Hokuriku, with a gradual rollout to other areas such as Kansai, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu and Okinawa slated for August. The product is limited to stores that operate the Seven Café Bakery service.
