Rome driver flees after hitting woman, suspect identified

On the morning of 6 July in Rome’s Montesacro district, a 67‑year‑old woman was struck by a car that then collided with a parked vehicle before fleeing the scene. The woman received immediate medical aid and was taken to Policlinico Umberto I, where she was found to have non‑serious injuries.

Local police quickly reviewed nearby CCTV footage, identified the vehicle as an Audi A4, and traced its owner—a 49‑year‑old man. He was located outside Rome later that day and has been charged with hit‑and‑run and failure to render assistance. The investigation remains ongoing, with the suspect awaiting trial.
