78th SBJ Annual Meeting to be held at Hokkaido University

The 78th Annual Meeting of the Society of Biotechnology, Japan (SBJ) is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 17, 2026, at the Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus. The event aims to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial application through various symposia and networking opportunities.

A key feature of the conference is the industry-academia collaboration symposium, which will focus on measurement technologies for biological macromolecules, such as virus vectors and LNP-mRNA. Researchers from institutions including Osaka University and companies like Hitachi High-Tech, Shimadzu Corporation, and Horiba will present advancements in nano-to-submicron particle evaluation and mass measurement.

Quantum Flowers & Foods (QFF) will also participate as an exhibitor, showcasing its “Neutron Beam Speedy Breeding” technology. This quantum biotechnology approach uses neutron beams to induce diverse mutations in plants and microorganisms, assisting in the development of new strains with improved productivity, fermentation performance, and environmental stress resistance.
