7UP announces first major brand evolution in 15 years

7UP is undergoing its first major brand evolution in over 15 years, centered on a permanent recipe reformulation. The parent company, Keurig Dr Pepper, is shifting to a 'lime-forward' flavor profile by reducing lemon content to better appeal to younger consumers.

Research from Keurig Dr Pepper indicates that 72% of Gen Z and Gen Alpha drinkers prefer citrus-forward flavors like lime. The rebranding includes a new visual identity featuring a vertical logo and a 'Lime Lemon' designation. The changes will apply to 7UP Regular, 7UP Zero Sugar, Cherry 7UP, and Cherry 7UP Zero Sugar.

The rollout is scheduled to begin nationwide in mid-August. This move comes as the $5 billion lemon-lime category in the United States faces intense competition from brands like Coca-Cola’s Sprite, PepsiCo’s Starry, and various 'better-for-you' options.
