84‑Year‑Old Yatağan Resident Found Dead After Three‑Day Search

Gülayşe Çoban, an 84‑year‑old resident of Yava Mahallesi in the Yatağan district of Muğla Province, Turkey, was reported missing three days ago. Relatives alerted the 112 Emergency Call Center, prompting a large‑scale search by gendarmerie units. The operation was expanded with assistance from AFAD, local volunteer rescue groups (MAG AME and NAK), tracking dogs and community volunteers.

On the third day, search teams located Çoban’s body in an abandoned building about 1.5 km from her home. Medical responders confirmed she had died. Her remains were taken to a hospital morgue for autopsy, and authorities have opened a broad investigation into the circumstances of her death.
