The Ecuadorian football club 9 de Octubre has become the first institution to formally submit documentation to the Viceministerio del Deporte to begin its transformation into a Sociedad Anónima Deportiva (SAD).

According to attorney Christian Morales, the process is being conducted under the new Regulation for the Transformation of Sports Clubs, which aligns with current sports laws. This legal and administrative shift aims to provide clubs with new management tools, investment opportunities, and economic sustainability.

The submission marks a significant precedent for Ecuadorian football. The Viceministerio del Deporte must now review the documentation to determine if the club meets the requirements to proceed to the next stages of the transformation process.
