90-kilogram stingray captured in Paraguay River

A group of approximately 30 fishermen captured a 90-kilogram stingray in the Paraguay River near the Las Hermanas stream. The event took place in the Mburica area of the Tacuaras district, within the Ñeembucú Department.

Guided by local expert Gonzalo Velazco, the group initially caught smaller prey before encountering the large stingray. Due to the animal's significant weight and size, a specialized crane was required to move the specimen from the boat to the riverbank, after which local fishermen assisted in transporting it across the pier.

The catch highlights the diverse aquatic fauna of the Paraguay River and its potential for recreational sport fishing.
