90 Women Heads of Household Certified in Curicó, Chile
The Instituto AIEP campus in Curicó, together with the SernamEG Maule program, held a graduation ceremony for 90 women heads of household from the municipalities of Curicó, Romeral and Molina. The participants completed the "Cuidando Juntas" caregiver training, which focused on safe, informed care for older adults and aimed to improve employability in the care sector. Officials highlighted the program's role in recognizing and professionalizing unpaid care work, stressing its importance for women's economic opportunities and community wellbeing.
Key speakers included Carolina Pinto Rojas, a faculty member of the institute, who noted the institution's commitment to making care visible, and regional seremi Fernanda Aguirre, who praised the validation of the women's newly acquired competencies. The program is part of SernamEG's broader initiative to support women heads of household across the Maule region.
