9/11 25th anniversary tributes and cultural reflections

As the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks approaches, various tributes and cultural reflections are being prepared to honor the victims and the responders of that day.

In a theatrical production, Front Porch Theatricals is staging the musical ‘Come From Away’ at the New Hazlett Theater. The show is based on the true story of Gander, Newfoundland, where the local population doubled after 38 international planes were forced to land following the shutdown of United States airspace. The musical depicts how the townspeople provided food, shelter, and support to approximately 7,000 passengers during the crisis.

Additionally, Space Coast Daily has announced a commemorative series to honor 25 individuals who lost their lives on 9/11. Using a selection process to identify specific names from the 9/11 Memorial database, the outlet plans to release one story per day starting August 18, 2026, leading up to the anniversary.
