926th Wing implements early training for Air Force Reserve recruits

The 926th Wing’s Development and Training Flight (D&TF) has implemented a program designed to prepare new Air Force Reserve recruits for military service before they begin Basic Military Training (BMT).

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between civilian life and operational military service by introducing trainees to military customs, courtesies, drill procedures, and rank structures. Beyond foundational training, recruits are embedded within operational squadrons to gain firsthand experience with the units they may eventually join.

Recent activities included trainees observing the 555th Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operational Repair Squadron Engineers and visiting Creech Air Force Base to witness security forces field operations. Program coordinator Tech. Sgt. Bench Riche Lagus stated that the flight helps recruits prepare for BMT and technical school while facilitating early integration into the wing.
