A. B. Quintanilla sues sister over Selena Quintanilla estate profits

A. B. Quintanilla III has filed a lawsuit against his sister, Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga, and her company, Q Productions, regarding the distribution of profits from the estate of their late sister, Tejano star Selena Quintanilla.

The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. A. B. claims that under a 1995 family agreement, he is entitled to a 25 percent share of the proceeds from Q Productions, a company founded by their late father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr. His attorney stated that A. B. has not received proper financial credit for his contributions as a producer and songwriter on many of Selena’s most iconic tracks.

Suzette and their mother, Marcella Quintanilla, have denied the allegations, issuing a statement asserting there was “no theft by Suzette” and that they will continue to protect the family’s reputation and Selena’s memory.

Selena’s widower, Chris Pérez, has publicly stated he will not be getting involved in the legal dispute. He requested that social media users stop tagging him in posts related to the conflict, noting that he has no intention of aligning with either side in a legal capacity.
