A Chocolate Christmas film to shoot in Gramado and New York
Brazilian director and producer Paulo Nascimento has announced the upcoming production of ‘A Chocolate Christmas,’ a Portuguese-language romantic holiday drama. The film is scheduled to be shot in Gramado, Brazil, and New York City.
Filming is planned for December 2026 in New York and January 2027 in Gramado. The production will leverage the Natal Luz festival in Gramado, which is recognized by Guinness as the world’s longest Christmas festival, to provide high production value through its parades, concerts, and immersive performances.
The film is a co-production between Nascimento’s Accorde Filmes and H2O Films, alongside the New York-based indie company Rose Pictures. The plot follows a talented chocolatier who returns to her hometown in Brazil after a decade in the United States following a family emergency.
H2O Films intends to release the film in Brazilian theaters during the 2027 Christmas season.
