A Coruña dominates new protected housing sales in Galicia

Between the first quarter of 2021 and the first quarter of 2026, Galicia recorded 404 transactions of new protected housing. The province of A Coruña accounted for 286 of those deals, representing roughly 71 % of the total and far outpacing the rest of the region.

Pontevedra contributed only 50 transactions (about 12 % of the regional total), while Lugo and Ourense together added 68 transactions (around 17 %). The concentration of sales in A Coruña has been consistent across the period, with the province handling the majority of activity in each year, including 84 transactions in 2025 (82.4 % of the regional total) and 18 of the 25 transactions recorded in early 2026 (72 %).
