A Coruña families protest municipal nursery school management changes

Hundreds of parents, educators, and opposition members gathered at the María Pita square in A Coruña to protest the changing management models of the city's municipal nursery schools. The mobilization was organized by the ANPAS of the municipal infant schools to demand transparency regarding the recent public tender process.

Protesters expressed concern that the management of six out of eight municipal schools is transitioning from worker-led societies to multi-service companies. The collective argues that early childhood education (ages 0 to 3) should prioritize pedagogical criteria, professional experience, and educational stability over economic interests.

Participants are calling for the City Council to clarify the new educational plans and values that will be implemented in the centers. They emphasize that education should not be treated as a business opportunity and demand that the selection process places greater weight on educational quality and the continuity of teaching teams.
