A Coruña Mayor Inés Rey seeks budget negotiations with BNG

Inés Rey, the mayor of A Coruña, has invited the Bloque Nacionalista Galego (BNG) to negotiate the 2027 municipal budgets. This move comes after the BNG recently announced it had ended all pacts with the Socialist municipal government, citing a failure to fulfill previous agreements from 2026.

Avia Veira, the BNG spokesperson, expressed surprise at the invitation, arguing that the mayor has systematically failed to comply with prior commitments and has not listened to the party or local residents. The BNG specifically criticized recent municipal decisions regarding the tendering of municipal nursery schools and changes to the Pepri Commission.
