A Estirada film wraps production in Acre

Filming for the feature film ‘A Estirada’ has concluded in the Brazilian state of Acre. The final scenes were recorded in Cruzeiro do Sul, marking the end of production for the project directed by Sérgio de Carvalho and Pedro von Krüger.

The approximately 1 hour and 40 minute film is a survival thriller set in the Amazon rainforest. The plot follows two young individuals transporting drugs through routes controlled by drug traffickers on the border between Brazil and Peru. During their journey, they are guided by a former member of the Peruvian guerrilla group Sendero Luminoso, traveling through isolated indigenous territories and the lands of the Ashaninka people.

In addition to themes of drug trafficking, the film explores shamanism, forest cultures, and the complex social dynamics of the border region. The cast includes Bruno Gagliasso and Adanilo. Post-production will take place in Rio Branco and Rio de Janeiro, with a scheduled release for late 2027.
