Brazilian media: A Fazenda 18 premieres and Avenida Brasil 2 cast announced

Brazilian television is seeing major developments in both reality TV and scripted drama. Record has premiered the 18th season of the reality show ‘A Fazenda’, hosted by Adriane Galisteu in Itapecerica da Serra. The season features 22 fixed participants competing for a R$ 2 million prize, alongside four surprise visitors. Early episodes have already seen tension, including a heated argument between Darlin Ferrattry and actress Giovanna Gold. The show is utilizing a multi-platform strategy, integrating broadcast TV with streaming via RecordPlus and social media.

In scripted programming, TV Globo has announced the official cast for ‘Avenida Brasil 2’, a sequel to the 2012 hit, scheduled for release in early 2027. The production will see the return of several original stars, including Adriana Esteves as Carminha, Débora Falabella as Nina, Murilo Benício as Tufão, and Cauã Reymond as Jorginho. The new plot follows the characters 14 years after the original events, focusing on Carminha’s attempt at social redemption and her complex relationship with her daughter, Ágata.
