The municipality of A Guarda has submitted three funding applications to the Provincial Council of Pontevedra under the Line 1‑Investments of the +Province plan, requesting a total of €481,509.53.

The proposals cover: (1) the first phase of a new sports zone in A Sangriña, with a €225,000 request (part of a €900,000 overall project) to build two tennis courts – one covered – and new changing‑room facilities; (2) the urbanisation of the extension of Baixo Muro street to connect with Ireira, aimed at eliminating an architectural barrier and creating an accessible route for wheelchair users, seniors and families, for which €106,877.41 is sought; and (3) the rehabilitation of the historic San Lorenzo school, requesting €149,632.12 for roof replacement and new furnishings. The municipality has already invested €102,500 to acquire the land needed for the street works. All applications are currently under review, with a decision from the provincial authority expected in the coming weeks.
