A. J. Brown returns to Patriots practice after ankle injury
New England Patriots wide receiver A. J. Brown returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since being placed on injured reserve following a high ankle sprain sustained in the season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.
Head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed that the team has opened Brown’s 21-day window to be activated from injured reserve. While Brown participated on a limited basis, his return provides a significant boost to an offense that has dealt with multiple injuries to players like Mack Hollins and running back TreVeyon Henderson.
Brown, who was acquired via trade from the Philadelphia Eagles, is eligible to return to game action this Sunday against the New York Jets. Quarterback Drake Maye expressed enthusiasm regarding Brown’s presence in the huddle, noting his engagement with the team during his rehabilitation.
