A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 hit by severe weather delays in Spain

Showrunner Ira Parker told The Hollywood Reporter that filming the second season of HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is "10 times harder" than the debut. The production, shot in Gran Canaria, Spain, was struck by a "once‑in‑100‑year" storm that flooded sets, triggered national emergencies and forced repeated shutdowns. Parker said the crew has been stopping and starting for weeks and still has about three weeks of shooting left, with a premiere still targeted for early 2027.

During the same period, casting moved forward: actress Kathryn Hunter was announced as the Dornish noblewoman Lady Vaith, marking the series’ first on‑screen appearance of Dorne. Parker also revealed that George R. R. Martin provided unpublished material from the Dunk & Egg novellas for the show. The showrunner described the production challenges bluntly, calling the season "a f—ing b—ard".

Despite the setbacks, the series remains slated for a 2027 release on HBO.
