A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 2 filming wraps after weather delays

Filming for the second season of ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, an HBO prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’, has officially concluded. The production faced significant delays after Gran Canaria, Spain, was struck by a historic storm and unprecedented flooding. The extreme weather, which prompted a national emergency in the region, disrupted the shoot for the storyline set during a drought.

Despite these setbacks, showrunner Ira Parker has indicated that the release schedule remains on track. The season is still targeting a premiere in the first half of 2027. The production is now moving into the post-production phase.

Season 2 will adapt George R. R. Martin’s novella ‘The Sworn Sword’, following Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, as they navigate a water rights dispute in the Reach. Cast members Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell will return, with new additions including Lucy Boynton, Peter Mullan, and Babou Ceesay.
