A-Leagues launch new content lineup for 2026/27 season

The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has announced a new lineup of digital content for the upcoming 2026/27 A-League Men and Ninja A-League seasons. The expansion includes four new shows designed to provide fan engagement, such as the Sunday podcast ‘A-Leagues: On the Whistle’ hosted by James Dodd, and the Monday YouTube analysis show ‘A-Leagues Download’ hosted by Jake Barker-Daish.

As the new season begins, discussions continue regarding the structural challenges facing Australian soccer. While the A-League Men season consists of 26 regular-season games—more than the AFL or NRL—critics note that the schedule remains shorter than top European leagues, which typically feature 34 to 38 games. Concerns have also been raised regarding uneven fixtures and the impact of a mid-October start on player fitness for international windows.
