A Letter to My Younger Self book launched in Dakar

The collective work ‘A Letter to My Younger Self’, an initiative by Aïda Diouf, was officially launched in Dakar on October 10. The book features letters from seventeen prominent African women representing twelve different nationalities, including leaders in finance, innovation, arts, and sports.

Prefaced by Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo, the project aims to provide role models for adolescent girls and young women across the continent by sharing personal experiences, doubts, and advice. The contributors include diverse figures such as Spotify Africa Managing Director Jocelyne Muhutu-Remy, tennis star Ons Jabeur, and choreographer Germaine Acogny.

To promote accessibility and social engagement, ten thousand free copies are planned for distribution across more than ten African countries. The initiative seeks to address the lack of female representation in decision-making spaces and provide relatable narratives for the next generation.
